Eastern Media International Corporation, the Holding Company of Eastern Group, is a listed company in Taiwan Stock Exchange. For the past 40 years or so, the corporation's core operation has been port silos and bulk shipping, establishing strong traditions while also seeking innovation and change. In 1980, Taiwan's first automated grain silo at a deep-water wharf was constructed at the Port of Kaohsiung. The silo has been in operation till today, and is still the only automatically-operated grain silo in the Port of Kaohsiung. In 1981, the grain silo at the Port of Taichung was commissioned, making Eastern the biggest silo port operation in Taiwan. At present, automated grain silos using European-made, heavy-duty grain unloading systems have been built for four deep-water wharves with depths of 14.5 meters: the #1 and #3 wharves at the Port of Taichung, and the #71 and #72 wharves at the Port of Kaohsiung. The silos have a total storage capacity of 330,000 tons, and they can unload up to 10 million tons of grain every year, making Eastern the leader among Taiwan's automated grain silos.

The corporation has performed brilliantly in multiple industry projects. Eastern Multimedia Corp. built the first private information highway in Taiwan; Eastern Broadcasting Co., Ltd. became Taiwanese viewers' favorite media; ETMall also became a legend in the sales field. Our stock was listed in the Shipping and Transportation category in 1995 before being listed in the Department Stores category in 2014.
