ETMall February Consolidated Revenue of NT$2.099 Billion, Profit Growth Up 36% The “King of Coins” of E-Commerce Platforms! 13 Billion ET Coins Issued

ETMall, a subsidiary of Eastern Media International Corporation (2614), reported today (12th) that the annual consolidated revenue of ETMall (merged with Strawberrynet) was NT$2.099 billion, with an annual growth rate of 15%, showing an increase of 36% from NT$74.92 million over the same period last year and a single-month EPS of NT$1. The Spring Festival fell in February this year, two weeks later than last year’s, so the combined profit for January and February was NT$266 million, with an 81% annual growth rate.

For this year’s Spring Festival, ETMall launched the “ET Coin Lotto” lucky draw where prizes of up to NT$1 million were up for grabs every day and it received the attention and participation of over 90,000 people, becoming a much talked-about event. Compared to last December’s ET coin car raffle and this January’s iPhone draw, which saw more than 20,000 participants respectively, this top-trending campaign saw the number of participants increase 4.5 times. The “ET Coin Lotto” campaign even inspired other e-commerce companies to follow suit, showing that ET coins have gradually become an important marketing tool for the e-commerce platform.

Since the launch of the market-exclusive “ET Coin” in August 2018, 13 billion ET coins have been issued to Taiwanese consumers to date. In particular, VIP members hold 43% of the coins, with an average of 300,000 new members added each year in 2019 and 2020, while last year’s car raffle and iPhone draw both drove sales growth to over 30%. This shows that the ET coin strategy has worked not only to increase CRM, but also to improve member engagement.

In order to expand the usability of ET coins, ETMall has launched various marketing campaigns. Not only can consumers use ET coins to shop on ETMall, but the ET coins can also be used to participate in betting activities and online games. In terms of functionality, the ET coin has become the “King of Coins” compared to the “currencies” issued by other e-commerce platforms. Gary Wang, chairman of ETMall said, “The 13 billion ET coins accumulated outside represent the strongest marketing tool for all stores on ETMall; moreover, ET coins will continue to be distributed in the future.” To thank consumers for their enthusiastic support and participation, we will launch more exciting and interesting activities with higher winning rates to reward our members and supporters.
