ETMall Announces January Revenue; With Strawberrynet, 50% Growth Over Last Year

ETMall has announced that it generated revenue of NT$1.66 billion in January 2019, for 31% growth from the NT$1.26 billion generated in the same period of the previous year. Including Strawberrynet's revenue yields a consolidated revenue of NT$1.9 billion, for 50% growth over the same period the previous year. Net income was NT$58.58 million, for EPS of NT$0.57.  ETMall’s 2018 annual consolidated revenue was NT$16.8 billion, producing a net income of NT$580 million. This represented 49% growth over the same period the previous year, for an EPS of NT$5.78. As earning power increases, the company continues to maintain its steady growth in the competitive e-commerce market through its multi-channel approach and product differentiation.

Lunar New Year tourism is booming this year. The period starting from the 9-day holiday through to Valentine's Day and Lantern Festival was a great time to travel. ETMall observed that the sales of travel tickets for this Lunar New Year increased by almost 133% over the previous year. The main reason is that this year’s Lunar New Year holiday is longer, and there is a 4-day weekend at the end of February for the Peace Memorial Day. This creates great opportunities to go out, increases consumers’ willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and significantly raises the number of travelers. Therefore, the company launched a series of great travel ticket discounts before the end of February, in order to grab the last wave of Lunar New Year tourism business opportunities. ETMall stated that the company started giving out discount vouchers at last year’s Winter Travel Exhibition; in February this year, the company is working with suppliers to launch marketing campaigns and give out free movie tickets and ET coins. As expected, the marketing campaigns worked and kept the buying boom going until after the Lunar New Year. This sales event, which will continue until the end of February, is expected to drive the final buying boom for Lunar New Year travel tickets, and generate a new peak in business performance.

ETMall further explained that, when buying travel tickets, consumers prefer those that are discounted and cheaper than market price, or tickets to hot spring holiday destinations popular in cold weather. These are all popular items on sale for a limited time. For example, the ticket pair for Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village (cable car ticket included) is NT$401 cheaper than its original price of NT$1,700; now is the best time to buy. Also available is a hot spring voucher for Ba Ian Hot Spring Resort, the only such resort in Jinshan, with deep discounts to lower than NT$300. For the cherry blossom bloom at Sun Moon Lake, a package including cherry blossom viewing and afternoon tea at the Wen Wan Resort is discounted by NT$450 per person, making it the third-most popular product.

From now until February 27, any single purchase of NT$10,000 or more on designated travel products through the "Golden Pig's Good News – Buy Travel Packages to Get Free Movie Tickets for Two" ETMall official page gets a bonus 2 free movie tickets. For the 2-night stay at Promisedland Resort in Hualien for NT$8,999, travelers whose birthdays are the same month as their stay can get an upgrade to a 21 ping (69 m 2 ) suite. Through this promotion, it’s easy to meet the requirements to receive the free movie tickets by purchasing two products. The first 30 people with single confirmed purchases of NT$30,000 or more will receive 888 ET coins. There is also the Super Voucher Gift Giveaway, where members receive a NT$800 discount coupon when they log in, limited one per person. More details about promotions and products:
